Dr. St. King is a therapist who specializes in problem gambling. She is authorized by the State of California to treat gambling addicts and their family members. If you are a problem gambler or an addicted gambler there is help. The first eight sessions are free (paid for by the State) to anyone or any family member interested in resolving his or her gambling problem.
Judith St. King is a caring Santa Barbara therapist who listens respectfully to your story without taking sides, and helps you identify the problems underneath your pain. That lifts a huge weight off you already. Beaming a light on what’s getting in your way helps you to move beyond those feelings, and open up to more peace, joy and self-confidence.
Whether you come to Judith for individual counseling, with your partner for couples counseling, or you send your adolescent child who’s acting out, results that can be achieved during therapy include:
With a background as a Registered Nurse (licensed in Michigan), Judith can quickly determine if underlying medical issues are contributing to your distress.
Judith accepts most insurances and handles the billing for you. To fit busy modern schedules, she offers flexible hours including weekend appointments.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how or where to start talking about what’s going on. Call Judith anyway at (805) 680-7225. She answers the phone personally. If she’s not there when you call, leave a message and she’ll get back to you within 2 hours.
Helping my clients gain strength in therapy to face those challenges of everyday life always fills me with a great sense of accomplishment.
When you take that first step towards wholeness by contacting me, you allow me to put my varied background to work to provide guidance and hope for you. Healing trauma or grief, watching and hearing the changes couples make in their relationship, or helping a parent improve communication with an angry child – these are situations I deal with on a daily basis.
In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am a Registered Nurse (in Michigan). This allows me to provide a broad level of support to those struggling with health and medical stressors.
My volunteer work at a local domestic violence agency deepens my insights into some of the extreme crisis situations that confront many women.
My education includes a Master of Social Work degree from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in Humanistic Psychology from Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2006 Lansing Community College honored me as the distinguished alumnus. I taught Psychology, Sociology, and Stress Management at Davenport University in Lansing, Michigan.
For more information on how I can help, call me at (805) 680-7225. I answer my phone personally. If I am not there when you call, leave a message and I’ll get back to you within 2 hours.
